Request a quote for Power of attorneyA power of attorney (授權書 or 委託書) lets someone act for you when you cannot be there: selling property in your home country, handling an inheritance, opening a company or representing you before a bank. For the document to work abroad, it usually has to be signed before a notary in Taiwan, authenticated by BOCA and legalized by the destination country's representative office.
It works the other way round too. If you live abroad and need someone to act for you in Taiwan, for example to sell land or deal with a bank, Taiwanese authorities generally require the power of attorney to be signed at a Taiwan overseas mission or notarized abroad and then authenticated by that mission. We prepare the bilingual wording so that it meets both sides' requirements.

Questions and answers
Can I sign a power of attorney without going to the notary?
No. Signature authentication requires you to sign in person in front of the notary with valid identification. We prepare everything in advance so the appointment takes as little time as possible.
The foreign bank sent me its own form. Can you use it?
Yes. We usually work with the receiving institution's form and add a translation or a bilingual layout so the Taiwanese notary can authenticate it.
I live abroad. How do I give a power of attorney for use in Taiwan?
It is usually signed at a Taiwan overseas mission, or signed before a local notary and then authenticated by that mission. Some uses, such as land registration, have extra requirements, and we will check them with you before you sign.
