In Taiwan, a notary authenticates that the copy matches the original (影本與正本相符認證) and attaches a notarial certificate.
We prepare the copies, bring the originals to the notary and return everything to you, usually without you having to attend. If the receiving institution is abroad, the certified copy can then be authenticated by BOCA and legalized by the relevant embassy.

Questions and answers
Is a certified true copy the same as a notarized copy?
In Taiwan they are the same process: a notary authenticates that the copy matches the original. Some foreign institutions use different names for it, and we check that the format meets their wording.
Will my originals be safe?
Originals stay with us or the notary only for the time needed and are returned by registered mail or courier with tracking. For passports, we schedule the appointment so that you are without it for as short a time as possible.
Can a certified copy be used abroad?
Yes. After notarization, the copy can be authenticated by BOCA and legalized by the destination country's representative office, which most foreign authorities require.
