Questions and answers
Do I need to come to your office from Taipei?
No. Clients in Taipei can send scans for a quote by email and courier originals to us. When a step requires you in person, such as signing before a notary, we arrange it within the jurisdiction of the Taipei District Court and Shilin District Court.
Can I get an apostille for a Taiwanese document?
No. Taiwan is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so no Taiwanese authority issues apostilles. Taiwanese documents are authenticated by the Bureau of Consular Affairs and then legalized by the representative office of the country where they will be used, and we manage that full process.
Do Taiwanese authorities accept apostilles on foreign documents?
In general, foreign documents for use in Taiwan must be authenticated by a Taiwan overseas mission (such as a Taipei Economic and Cultural Office). In many countries an apostille or state-level certification is a prerequisite for that step. We tell you exactly which steps apply to your document.
